UCPN (M) concerned over discussion at Energy Ministry

The UCPN (Maoist) has expressed concerns over the recent discussion that was held at the Energy Ministry , alleging that the discussion was held for allowing foreign country for the use of country’s water resources. Speaking at a regular press meet organised at the party headquarters in Koteshwor on Saturday, party spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said, “The discussion at the Energy Ministry to allow the foreign countries for the utilisation of water resources of the country at a time when the prime minister was out of the nation and without discussing with the opposition parties was worrying.” He added that allowing only single foreign country for the use of such a huge water resource was concerning. In stead of this, the country should seek various options of investment and best utilise the water resources and devote to national interest, he added.

He also said the budget unveiled by the government was also against the welfare of the general public, for it focused on bigwigs’ interests.

Moreover, the spokesperson said the party was always for the constitution with federalism and guarantee of identity. He also thanked the new leadership in the CPN-UML elected recently after the ninth General Convention.
